About Jason

jason-bishop-designer-bw

Ciao! I'm Jason Bishop, a NYC Digital Design & UX Director with 23+ years of experience.

I proudly serve as the Global Design Director for Tapestry, overseeing Coach, Coach Outlet, Coachtopia, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman.

Ethos

My superpower is being well-rounded, with experience in both agency and client-side work. I know how to get the job done on time, on brand, on budget, and deliver actual results.

I thrive in and build collaborative design cultures, working with various clients, agencies, organizations, and brands.

History/More

A proud dad, a long-time New Yorker, and a bi-coastal Virginia via Southern California native, I'm possessed by skateboarding, playing guitar, astronomy, holy grail records, and mixed tapes.

Strategic Approach

1. Absorb

The first act as a designer is always actively listening with empathy, with eyes and minds open.

2. Gather

Gather as many inputs & requirements as possible or perform what's necessary if it doesn't exist.

3. Define

Identify the why, user needs, problems to solve, constraints, and state the strategy explicitly.

4. Create

Actualize in design while considering all inputs.

5. Refine

Iterate purposefully while keeping only what is needed without losing the detail and vision.

6. Follow-Through

Good design consistently exhibits detailed execution & follow-through. Implementation is key.

7. Observe

Gather feedback, analyze results, & accept constructive ideas for improvements or fresh ideas.

8. Repeat

The cycle of design never ends. Go back to 1.
